Pulse Rate (PR)

The average resting pulse rate in children age 10 + and adults, ranges from 60 - 100, although anything over 80 PRM (pulse rate per minute) is considered high and therefore a greater risk of cardiac related conditions or events as well as other conditions associated with poor cardiac function.  The resting Pulse Rate (PR) in well-conditioned athletes could be as low as 40-60 (PRM).
